Two more murder arrests after boy, 14, shot dead

Two additional suspects detained in murder case following teen’s fatal shooting

A 14-year-old boy, Eghosa Ogbebor, lost his life in a shooting incident on Lord Warwick Street, Woolwich, south-east London. The tragedy occurred around 15:40 BST on Thursday, with the victim succumbing to his injuries at the scene. The Metropolitan Police confirmed that two more individuals have been taken into custody on suspicion of murder, joining a 16-year-old boy and a 19-year-old man arrested on Saturday. A 46-year-old man was also detained for allegedly aiding the perpetrator.

Earlier, three suspects were apprehended on Friday—two minors, aged 14 and 16, and an 18-year-old man—but were subsequently released on bail. Det Ch Insp Lucie Card, overseeing the investigation, noted that officers had been active in the area, detaining further individuals as part of their probe. She emphasized the community’s role in the case, stating:

“Our team of detectives is diligently working to uncover the circumstances surrounding Eghosa’s death. Residents may have observed heightened police activity last night, as three more people were linked to the investigation. We recognize the impact of this loss, especially within Woolwich, where ongoing efforts will maintain a visible police presence.”

Card encouraged anyone with insights or sightings of unusual behavior near the scene to reach out to the authorities. The incident has sparked renewed attention to local safety, with police continuing their search for answers.
