Kumari believes the examination was manipulated, alleging that certain candidates deliberately left answers blank so they could be filled in later. The CID has since requested answer sheets from successful candidates and conducted raids at the Jharkhand Public Service Commission offices and other relevant locations.

The loss of faith in examination integrity is not unique to Jharkhand. Last month, much larger protests in Delhi became one of the most powerful expressions of youth anger over examinations and employment in recent memory.
