Savannah Guthrie Visits ‘TODAY’ Studio Amid Ongoing Search for Missing Mother

Savannah Guthrie, a co-anchor of the NBC morning show, made a brief appearance at the TODAY set on Thursday. This visit occurred as the investigation into her mother’s disappearance entered its 32nd day. A spokesperson for the show noted that Guthrie came to the studio to connect with her colleagues and express gratitude for their support during this difficult time.

Nancy Guthrie, 84, was last seen on February 1 after failing to arrive at a friend’s home in Tucson, Arizona, for an online church service. She had dined at her daughter Annie’s residence the night before and was reported missing the following day. Authorities have indicated the case may involve a kidnapping or abduction, though evidence remains limited.

Guthrie’s visit was not broadcast live. She has been absent from the TODAY show since her mother’s disappearance, focusing instead on being with her family in the Tucson area. During the segment, co-anchor Jenna Bush Hager shared her emotional reaction to the visit. “She said that she has the intention to return to the show, even though it feels like the hardest thing to do,” Hager explained. “It’s also her home and where she feels so loved.”

“Whenever you are ready, we are here,” said Sheinelle Jones, Hager’s co-host for the third hour of TODAY.

Photographs from outside the TODAY studio, captured by an Associated Press photographer, showed Guthrie wiping tears and embracing her coworkers. The Guthrie family has offered a $1 million reward for information leading to their mother’s recovery. On February 24, Savannah Guthrie stated: “While we believe she can come home, we also know she may be lost and may already be gone.”

The FBI recently recovered footage from a doorbell camera depicting an armed and masked individual near the Guthrie residence on the morning of the disappearance. Investigators have identified this person as a suspect but have not publicly named him. The suspect is described as a male between 5 feet 9 inches and 5 feet 10 inches tall, with an average build, and was seen wearing a black 25-liter Ozark Trail Hiker Pack backpack.

As the search continues, the Guthrie family remains hopeful but resolute, relying on the community’s assistance to uncover the truth behind Nancy’s disappearance.
