Melania Trump says rumors linking her to Epstein ‘need to stop’

During a recent White House appearance, Melania Trump, the First Lady, refuted claims of a connection to Jeffrey Epstein, stating that such associations “need to end today.” Her remarks came as a sudden declaration, with no prior indication from her team that she would address the matter. Trump emphasized that any allegations tying her to Epstein were driven by “mean-spirited attempts to defame my reputation.”

She urged Congress to hold public hearings for survivors of Epstein’s alleged sex trafficking activities, insisting that each woman should have the chance to “tell her story in public” under oath. “We will have the truth only when their testimonies are officially recorded,” she added, stressing the importance of sworn statements in the congressional record.

Denial of personal involvement

Trump clarified she had no role in Epstein’s actions, stating she “was not a participant” in any of his alleged misconduct. She described her brief encounter with Epstein in 2000 as a “casual meeting,” not a significant relationship. Additionally, she dismissed claims of knowing Ghislaine Maxwell, Epstein’s associate, calling a 2002 email exchange between them “nothing more than polite replies.”

“It is even said that he likes beautiful women as much as I do, and many of them on the younger side,”

the email referenced by Trump included a compliment on a photograph of “JE” from New York Magazine. The article featured quotes from then-President Donald Trump, who referred to Epstein as “a terrific guy” and “a lot of fun to be with.” Trump noted that Epstein’s fondness for “beautiful women” was highlighted in the media.

California Democrat Robert Garcia, a leading member of the House Oversight Committee, endorsed her demand for hearings, urging Chairman James Comer to act promptly. “We agree with Melania Trump’s call for a public hearing,” Garcia stated. “We encourage Chairman Comer to respond immediately and schedule it.”

The First Lady’s comments are expected to reignite discussions about the justice department’s handling of the Epstein case and the disclosure of his files. While Trump acknowledged knowing Epstein, he later claimed to have expelled him from Mar-a-Lago for being a “creep.” Despite frequent mentions in the documents, there is no evidence of his wrongdoing in the records.
