Conservation Efforts Show Promising Results
Professor Helen Roy, who holds positions at both the UK Centre for Ecology and Hydrology and the University of Exeter, has praised the butterfly developments as a positive signal for other insect categories. Her studies have revealed a worrying long-term reduction in butterfly populations that started in the 1970s, largely driven by habitat loss and environmental deterioration.
