Sheryl’s mother, Mary Wilkins, expressed belief that her daughter’s murder had ultimately saved other potential victims. Levy killed Carmenza Valencia-Trujillo, aged 53, in March 2025. The victim had relocated to the United Kingdom seeking improved opportunities for her family. Her daughter, Nazly Johana Fuenmayor Valencia, described the devastating impact of her mother’s death.

There’s an emptiness that can’t be filled. I have been ripped apart… we will never be the same again. She was a truly special person who gave so much love to others. Her kindness, her smile and the love she shared so freely will stay with us forever.

Nazly explained the circumstances of her mother’s relocation: “My mum came to this country to give her children a better life and for safety. Instead her life was taken so cruelly.” She added: “We have been living a nightmare we cannot wake up from. We don’t know why she was taken from us. The rest of our lives will never be the same.”

The Survivor’s Statement

A woman who survived Levy’s rape in January 2025 delivered a harrowing account of her ordeal. In a statement read by a prosecutor, she described how Levy had stripped away her sense of self.

He took away my soul that night and he took away my dignity. He took my soul like a parasite. I feel like people have taken advantage of me all my life. I can’t forget the smell of his sweaty hands on my mouth. I thought I would die.

She continued: “It’s taken me a long time to trust people, I can trust a small number of friends. I want to try to forget this monster. This man is a parasite not worthy of any more of my words or time.”
